Comprehensive Eye Exams
A comprehensive eye examination includes dilation. Dilation use eye drops that cause your pupils to widen which allows more light into your eyes. This gives Dr. Wells a better view of the back of your eyes so she can thoroughly check them for any potential disorders or disease. Your vision and depth perception are also carefully evaluated Dr. Wells uses advanced diagnostic equipment such as digital fundus photography and automated visual perimetry to detect and monitor glaucoma, cataracts, diabetes and macular degeneration. Treatment, whether with medication, ophthalmic lenses, contact lenses or vision therapy, is customized for each patient Dr. Wells is prepared to handle whatever your eye care needs are and she is committed to keeping up with changes in eye care technology in order to keep her patients seeing as clearly as possible.
Pediatric Eye Exams
The American Optometric Association recommends that children have a comprehensive eye examination at 6 months of age. If no problems are detected during the initial exam, subsequent examinations are recommended every two to three years, especially before pre-k at age 3 and before kindergarten at age 4. Early eye examinations are crucial to make sure children have normal, healthy vision Dr. Wells excels in examining children and patients with special needs.
